LeAnn Rimes & B-52s headlining 2011 Season
We invite you to be a part of the Arts! The Freeman Stage at Bayside will officially kickoff the 2011 season on May 28th at the St*ARTS & Stripes Memorial Day Event, featuring Zany Umbrella Circus from noon to 3p.m. Regular weekly performances at The Freeman Stage will commence on June 17th with a performance by the Mid-Atlantic Symphony and will continue throughout the year. Among the performances scheduled this season are such crowd favorites as the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Clear Space Theatre Group, the Dirty Sock Funtime Band, the Bronx Wanderers, and Washington National Opera. Also returning in 2011 are the Arts & Jazz Festival and First State Ballet. Performers new to the outdoor stage this summer include Possum Point Players, Attack Theatre, Grammy nominee Gerald Clayton, The DePue Brothers Band, and Sussex County native Beth Cayhall. The Freeman Stage will also bring back Tribute Week, which includes tribute bands performing Elvis, Rod Stewart, Tony Bennett as well as The Beatles.
Over 70% of our performances will remain free in 2011. Thursday nights and Saturday morning children's performances have free admission. For events on Friday & Saturday nights, the cost is $10 per person, with children 18 and under being free. New for this season, we are offering a seasonal subscription for Friday and Saturday night paid performances. You can purchase your subscription online starting April 1st at www.freemanstage.org at a 20% savings from single ticket performance pricing.
What's the biggest news of the performance season in 2011? The Freeman Stage at Bayside will present two national recording artists: LeAnn Rimes and The B52s! Mark your calendar to attend An Evening with LeAnn Rimes on Saturday, June 25th and be prepared to rock with the B52s on Tuesday, August 9th. These special concerts have separate ticket prices and you will want to purchase tickets quickly! 2011 Sponsors will have the ability to purchase LeAnn Rimes concert tickets online beginning April 1, 2011. Tickets for the general public go on sale, April 22, 2011.
